1999 135hp Optimax

Hi all, new member here.

I'm possibly inheriting a 135hp Optimax that I was trying to find out if I could increase the power on. From my limited searching, it appears if I remove the restrictor plate/donut on the intake, and change the computer from the 135hp to the computer off a 150hp, that would work to give me an immediate 15hp increase.
Does this sound correct? Is there anything else I can look at for more power relatively easy and inexpensive vs a bigger engine?

I think that is rite..... just the intake has smaller opening....What kind of boat?

It’s on a 20’ aluminum deck boat. Does about 42 mph as is.
