What is the wrapping on the engine side of the cables? Is the outer coating cracked?

vtboy, you'll get more replies if you start your own thread. All the cables look the same at the motor end. What does your rack look like under the dash? Probably an old Morse system. Morse was absorbed by Teleflex and Teleflex still makes replacement cables for the old Morse systems. If you can still read the numbers on your old cables give Teleflex customer support a call. They will probably try to tell you to upgrade to one of their new NFB systems. Don't buy that BS and don't tell them what you're working on. Just tell them that you're restoring an old boat and you would like to replace the old cables with new and keep your old helm. They aren't fond of high performance applications anymore...
