    Timing Indicator Question

I did some searching but came up with quite a few results. What do you guys that build recommend for finding top dead center? I like to use a dial indicator normally but seen there are a few dial indicators made for the spark plug hole. Just looking for the best setup so I can check where my timing is on the 2.0 after I get the heads back on. You guys recommend 25 degrees for a 26cc head?

Use a piston stop or dial indicator. If ya use a stop rotate crank clock wise until piston makes contact with stop and note degree reading ( I like stop length to be where this is around 10 degrees for simplicity) rotate counterclockwise until piston hits and note degree reading, should be the same amount of degrees ATDC as your reading BTDC. If not adjust pointer accordingly until they are the same. Same principle if you are using an indicator, just use the same reading in thousandths of piston travel in both directions to note readings in both BTDC and ATDC.

A universal spark plug dial indicator set may not have sufficient reach to work in this application. I recommend picking up the JSRE set for simplicity's sake!
