    2.4 on 2.5

    Is there Any or Many issues with putting a 2.4 Carb Bridgeport powerhead on 2.5 plates (2 plate set up) Thank you

    You have to make sure you have the correct adapter to exhaust plate. Thats exactly the problem we had in the 2.4 black max. The guy that put it together used a 2.5 adapter plate on a 2.4 power head and mid. Burnt the engine up.
    Respect no wake zones!!! Evinrude guys need a place to race too.

    sorry, but that alone won't do it.... as long as both halves of two piece or either 2.4 or 2.5 with right gasket in-between.

    Forgot to mention the lower plate was a 2.4 plate. It was 2.4 power head, 2.5 adapter plate into 2.4 exhaust plate. It did not line up at all. If the 2 plates were the same if would be fine, ours however was not. Crazy how you can bolt the wrong thing in there, bolt patterns were the same.

    you failed ta mention that...… if ya even "suspect" tha two plates don't go together ya throw 'em both in tha trash and start over…. jmo.

    although ya could do like some and put 'em E-bay....

    I appreciate all the feedback but i am still not sure of the answer. Is it Safe to run the 2.4 powerhead on small port Matching 2.5 plates or put feelers out there for 2.4 plates Thank you

    With a matching plate and adapter yes it is safe.

    as long as "both pieces" are tha same.. either 2.4 or 2.5.. if exhaust doesn't match block run tha metal infused PH gasket to match tha larger exhaust whether its tha block openin' or plate openin'...……...jmo
