    73 20' seacraft rebuild.

Only the start. Will keep posted with progress. The cap was totally cut up. Someone had cut all The wood out from the top. We'll fabricate a new cap. It might even be extended a few feet. Click image for larger version.

So my buddy Gio has been doing a little work on the craft, I haven't had a chance to do much with him. He's using pour foam to shape out the front of the stringers, then glass it all up. The new deck won't have the step up like it used to. The first piece of coosa is in. It'll get glassed then another piece of coosa and more glass.

How are you holding the layers together while laminating? Looking good!

Since its getting repaired and repainted, the first layer was just screwed into the transom glass, the second piece was screwed into the first piece. After its cured screws are all removed.

Stub stringer with knees. Gonna be all glued and glassed. Refoam and glass it all up.

How does the coosa stand up to the nuts and bolts clamping pressure of an outboard, will you make sleeves for the bolts to prevent crushing???

It would be difficult to compress on accident. Fender washers are all that's really needed. We usually make fiberglass backing plates. We've used sleeves before which work great too. This will have a flotation bracket installed to.

Test fit. Still needs to be trimmed. The stringer box will be cut opened up more to allow glassing into the stringer. The box will be glassed on the inside before the stringer is glued in. The end will be cut 45 degrees to help eliminate a hard spot on the hull. Then all glassed into the boat and filled back up with foam.
