    Mid 1980''s 200up. 2.4 mercury

    Lost two impeller tips off water pump impeller...one about 1/8" & one about. 1/4" ...where is the most likely location that they could end up....?there are no thermostates...if I remove the heads ...what are the chances I might see something.....the motor is ..offshore efi..updraft 245 hp...very good condition....& I don't want to hurt it.....

    Thanks capt insane-o...do I need to remove the exhaust divider? Or will the rubber tips go out the exhaust square ports @ the bottom?

    I've seen small pieces of wood get stuck between the exhaust divider plate and the block. The divider has larger holes than the return into the block on a 2.5. Not sure about the 2.4. I've also seen plenty of crap end up in the adapter plate. You will have to remove the exhaust divider plate to check there and of course remove the powerhead to check the adapter plate. Mike
