250 xs lanier custom
Recently purchased a lanier custom with a gold block 250 xs and what appears to be a 26 pitch four blade lightning et best I can tell. It has a torque master 1.75, My question is I am only able to turn this prop at 5600 rpm and the motor is rated at 6300 rpm . Does this seem right?
compression is good and everything else checks out good on computer and gauges
any help would be appreciated thanks

I am uncertain what weight a Lanier is and where your prop shaft is set . The 4 blade is not a lightning - i believe 3 blade only . Possibly a pro max . But that motor would turn a 26 well past 5600 . You best take a close look at it and discern what it is and know then what pitch it is and be somewhat better able to understand the low rpm . Your lugging it I believe . Torquemasyer lower I think . They are a nice motor , it' a v hull correct . Prop ID would be a good bit to know and maybe a bit tall for the hull . Hope this helps

Prop looks similar to a eagle 4 Ron hill prop I think. (Not 100%)positive on that tho. Prob has a stamp on inside of prop? A 26 4blade kinda like a 28 3 blade as in rpm wise. Depending on Weight of the boat is what rpm u will get ,and how high propshaft is runnin also. If u have that prop buried u wont see the rpm u should. it's made to b surfaced so the mota can spin up

Raise it up 1/4in at a time till u start loose water pressure then drop it 1/4in. Looks to deep. but I've never ran a tunnel. it will prob handle better to when raised

That prop is a Drag 4. The boat will run best with a 4 blade thru hub "hydromotive, pro max, modified Bravo, DeWald or Hering" to help provide total lift. The tube or barrel of the propeller helps a lot in the case of a heavy LCB "it acts as a gear case extension to ride up on" lifting the transom and packed air will lift the bow. You can't expect a low hp motor to push a heavy rig to its potential (that boat needs a 450).
