New Aussie here.
Hi fellow enthusiasts, Justin here from Sydney Australia, long time lurker, owner of a 151 bulls bay, made by pioneer boats. Skiff essentially 6 degree dead rise, used to run a 50 Tohatsu, sold that fitted a 70 yammie, 2005 two stroke, any way, just thought I’d say hello.

I am a automotive mechanic, compression test done although on the low side, 115,110, 105, battery was a little flat too, it pops out if the lowest carb, also hard starting, have checked spark, reset timing, static and with light, bilge is dry mainly, I am a bit of a tinkerer, so I usually just check and replace things so I know they are spot on.

Completely understand. I'm just a tinker also. Really enjoy playin (building) these ole mercs. I know u have the yammi but I think compression is inline with the mercs @ around 120ish for a healthy motor leak down will tell better. that 105 cyl may have high leak down #s but idk may not usually if I'm loosing wot rpm or speed I'd look at spark or cyl health possibly carb gunked up. The bottom carb that's spitting? Is that the 105 cyl?

Not losing rpm, just running out of puff, I might try the 17 pitch again and get her up to 5900 again, although when the 18 pitch went on I could still turn 5600-5700 and hit the low 40s, the 17 would run out at 38ish. Yes temps are spot on.

If u losing mph ,rpm goes along with it. If u gotta drop pitch on prop to get same rpm as other prop. ur losing power

Try Chris Carson for the reeds. Sounds like you need them.

Welcome aboard! Bulls Bay boats are built an hour away from my home. Good boats built by people who stand behind their work.
