Most know little about how expansive BRP is as a company. They can pretty much do whatever pleases them.

11-08-2019, 07:16 PM #7Images on Aluma Craft or Quintrex fishing boats and Manitou pontoon boats have already been presented. Development times have not been reported. As electric motors develop, with a volume lower than thermal equivalents, it is easy to imagine an evolution of technology towards new energy sources.
Maybe, it looks like it would have to be electric to fit if the renderings are even close.Last edited by David - WI; 11-11-2019 at 12:59 PM.

soooo they're making inboards, and calling them "ghost" outboards.
ummm... I'm not building a bunker... I'm building a "ghost" skyscraper.
I'm not making a submarine... I'm building a "ghost" destroyer.
I'm not growing a potatoe. I'm growing "ghost" tomatoes.Last edited by home made tunnel; 11-08-2019 at 09:21 PM.

I agree. If you can't see the engine and the brand name on it then RIP.

Says they are "external" and easily "removable".
an engine that will sit outside the transom and be easily removed, tiltable and steerable, providing outboard performance without having the powerhead in the way.

That is not true. Depending on applications today battery will work there a guy on YouTube uses his Tesla to tow his 18ft boat that runs on Tesla battery to lake and tows a skier around. Now am I
Naïve to think that it will work for all applications for ever no but there is a time and place.#skaternation

Im interested to see what they come up with , BRP has a huge tech program and as stated earlier they can if they feel there is a want . The portion of Statement I paid attention to is they are going to DOUBLE the revenue stream from this segment . So there is about to be something of interest happen . They may just increase their footprint by supplying their dealers with product with a very reasonable floor lan interest free or close to or may increase their jet propulsion program , not sure but they say they are about to DOUBLE the exposure . I know nothing but I'm not going slag them without first seeing what they deliver . As far as electric - imagine no noise - insane instant torque on the water . It may be a ways off . I would suspect an increased presence as far as product goes and pricing attractively or low interest programs just as they introduce their jet drives into these hulls . Dont know just wondering myself. I know my dealer close by thinks Evinrude is IT. I believe Mercury is and has been for a long while . Why- performance - durabiliy and dealer network and parts availabiliy as well as tech support . And pretty damn reliable . So if someone can up the competition it' good all around and healthy. Let' see what they are brewing - they are obviously leaking advertising in a manner that is causing talk , hence the thread . So my bet is just a jet drive Ghost . Nothing other than a jet ski motor . That' My guess . I have nice old 350 stroked in an old sidewinder that doesn' cost anything to repair and never asks for much - that' an inboard . Jet drive - not so keen but I see some nice hulls with duals around but rather a nice simple v6 or v8 . But harder to hide ghost .I just went back and looked closer and it does look like a I/O drive not jet . From the pics . So my jet theory guess was foiled . I really don' care .Mercury now that' another story . I'l pay attention .
