Aeter some research, all mids have the same pattern, for a 1pc or 2pc adaptor. the ridgebk is just a beefy unit and lower mounts are built in, no cover plates. i pulled the 1pc plate off,has a nice bell tuner, short about 7'' long. youtube showed installing a 2pc adaptor on a 15'', just needed a p hole to spray on wtr pump. offshore marine has the 3 gaskets ill need. seems a 2.4 xri 220 has small 150 size ports, using the big port 1pc would have iffy. the oil block off is so cheap dont think it would pay to ship, but thank for the offer.

There are two "ridgeback" mids. The original took motor mounts like a bass mid. The second generation had integrated motor mounts like a smoothback. The smoothback was the last generation of offshore mid. Any plate or lower will fit any mid -- ridgeback, smoothback, bass are all the same pattern top and bottom...

i was gonna do some wrenchin today, but is nasty/rainy. want to order lower seal but p/t #s all diff. i got 26-41953 or sierra# 18-2016? called marina got diff#? my engine# ob211002 87, 220. ide like to have all my gaskets n stuff ready, too many cross-ref numbers. have the 15'' tube from the 1pc but its clamped in, dont know whats under the clamp. might work on the 2pc, if long enough. FINALLY, 3hrs, 3 of us . 1can bp blaster, 1can wd, wedges, pry bars, huffin, puffin, split the 220 apart. not easy. the long studs were not movin. backed the 4 nuts off, flush with stud, stacked pennies under nut in recess sides of mid, filling gap, backed off nuts equally forcing the studs to rise.slow but sure. should have thought sooner, would have saved an hour. got a pat on the back 4 it!

good news, 2pc 2.4 plate has short tuner already. split the plate, removed the solid mts, but cant remove bolts, wont clear clamp, just too long. swivel will have to come up, lower mts off, can too. if i could bend em a tad, i could pull em out foward. i think there grade 8.

had to drill 2pc adaptor 3 rear bolts to 7/16, ridgeback can blind tapped for 7/16x 14x31/2'' stock mid 3/8''. powerhead studs seem correct length. the dffshore mid is twice the thickness compared to new style. think its gonna sound good with the tuner and beefy can combo. get ya sum turkey!!!!!!

MY 1pc hp plateand 220 2pc plate, why do the tuners slant towards the water pump? theres room to go straight possibly slant rearward. hear lots about melted pumps and now im closer by 5''. thinking about kicking it back, towards open snout? please chime in. maybe a liner would hit if angle was changed? i have a hugeunstricted offshore mid.
