    8 hp water in crankcase

not much in the search section... my buddys 2011 8 HP 4 stroke has alot of water
in the crankcase! He says it never overheated... but unreliable! Still runs good, so
we wanna keep it that way! I'm thinking gaskets or O-rings somewhere?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Take a look at the fuel, probably not if it’s running, but that’s a quick way to get water in.

Runs too smooth to have contaminated fuel! 9 yr old engine probably has dried up gaskets or something!

Is his drain plug under water running or sitting, check it’s seal.

If it hasn’t been changed for a while water from blowby or just humidity will collect in the case. (One reason for the old standard 3m/3000mile oil change on cars when they had road tubes befor pcv system)

cant remember if the water system can get to the oil tank though

Lots of idle time will make it worse.
