    Key West Worlds

So who’s coming to Key west? I’m not on FB so I’m not seeing it, but what rumors are floating around on who is coming and who isn’t?

Guess I'll take the Key West Express from Marco Island to keep it simple, Go Wicked powerboats.

First year I will miss in a while. Curious how RWO does though, keep us informed when you go down.

Went to the boat parade down Duval street this afternoon. Good amount of boats....lots of the regulars and some new faces. Hoping the best for RWO also! We’ll see how Wednesday’s race goes. I know there’s been a lot of talk of how they are going to run the race in the opposite direction - going to be different for sure but I think it’s going to be cool.

There are going to be 9 supercats "most we have seen in 15 years", more Super Stock boats then we have seen in 15 years, the open class will have boats that actually finish the race with the 1100 program in effect and many more race boats are currently under construction. All of the participation with a new "common sense" group organizing the event should make for a great week. Key West is just a special event and we are lucky to see it continue. I think that it will become more of a friendly race event and less of a money trap then we have experienced in the recent past.

Heading down Thursday in the Poker Run. Not sure how the aces will be but there are 260 boats in the Poker Run over the 3 days of departures from Miami.

    .

Totally agree Joe. Getting that old man out of the mix should make for some of the best races we’ve seen in a long time.

There is only one Key West and only so many rooms available. Pull a stack of that cash out of the ground and come enjoy yourself, we have one chance a year to see 3 races in 5 day period, be part of the biggest poker run in existence, and have this many racers all in one spot. Bottom line is that its worth the money...

Rwo has been pretty pitiful so far this year. 8 boats in Dunkirk and 14 in Clearwater. If Clearwater would have been smart and gone with opa there would have probably been 70+ boats in Clearwater. Only reason it will be a decent turnout is because it’s key west. So far I have only heard about the super cats and the stock outboard class boats being there. What other classes have shown up?

Anyone know why the scheduled 4 races Sunday but only ran 3? Where was the super v and super cat boats? I'm really missing the turbine noise, and ogling those polished surface drives. It was nice to see a lot of boats in the couple classes that did show up! Hope they can attract more classes next year, and the really extreme stuff especially.
