So last nite I got carbs on and got it fired up for a sec run into fuel line issue and ran tried idle like crap. Cam home today pulled em all off ,went thru with fine tooth comb , looked thru manual for idle screw setting , got he fired back and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed with off idle response and idle quality, sounds little different to. More crisp. Cant wait see what happens on water and if gain or loose rpm. Gonna play with mains little more I'm sure but so far so good really like the idle sound

I think it gets closed without the valve, but I can’t remember

i do remember it reduces air so the mix is rich till warm, but not sure what way is best without the valve

What bout idle mixture screw. Does it let air or fuel in? As I (open) it is it letting more fuel or air. They run gud up top but my wh46 has way better hole shot. Wondering if idle is rich.

Update. Wmv 18 SUCK impo. Haha. Lost hole shot and few rpm up top. Then go out to run it again today b4 I swapped back to 46s to compare and they didnt wanna run for ****! Think I'll throw em over the bridge on my way by!

Ok so I guess I forgot tighten idle screw jam nut and idle timin went hay wire. Better. But still ain't no 46s. Only thing better I notice is gas milage

Ok so I mite been little pissed off when I made that post lol
They do run fine for what they r I guess. Just not a gud match for my modded motor. It starts a whole lot easier and gud milage but I lost power where It counts with em. Maybe a stock motor would do better idk. But I got set clean set 18s if sumone needs em just not for me. Even the wife said. Well u got better milage but u cant have gas mileage and more power. They just dont go in same sentence together lol

Sorry for the late post but the manual for my 2002 Mercury 200 say idle screw out 1 1/4 turns out +-1/8, though I definitely turn mine out a little extra. Mercury 2.5 I sent you a pm.
