    Laser 1 Porting Question

I have an original Laser prop in 25p. I like the prop but it doesn't have any vent holes for hole shot. It has small lines just in front of the blades. Would it be ok to use a machinist type hole saw and create a larger vent hole like the mercury props? Or would this jeopardize the strength of the prop? Thanks

Here is a pic of the venting it has. Took it at night so quality is not good.
