Spark plug wires Merc 2.5 HP Blue VS Wizard spark plug wires
Are the Wizard wires better than the OEM ones that come from Mercury High performance ? I have 91 2.5 carb 245HP
any opinions?
Thank you
Joe

If theyre the original 30 year old NGK’s, then yeah, the Wizards are better.

I have both, and they seem to be comparable except in aesthetics. I will leave it to you as far as the looks.

Just use the one's from 1991 ... you'll be OK ..
Better yet, I was at the junkyard a couple days ago, they were about to crush an early 70's van .. I barely had time to reach in the doghouse and grab those dry rotted wires before they became part of a little cube. Whatta waste that wouldda been ...
Points, analog, digital, twin 40 amp MSD mags ... New for new, there is a wire for every application ... but that wasn't the question.

Stick your finger in the end of the plug cap and crank it over, each one will most likely give ya the same sensation.....

I hate the smell of purple
wizy is typically shielded better do you need it ehh dunno.
though my last set of new merc wires ohms at 1200 with 1100-1300 being spec on that engine and one of the three was 1289. Was a touch disappointed to not see 1100-1150 for fresh ones.Last edited by Motv18; 10-26-2019 at 04:57 AM.

Orange-Yellow not so bad ...
Deep Blue with a White tip .... I'd rather get checked for carpal tunnel every day for a week ..
Chaz = thinkin, I know I just jinxed myself ... sometime today the rod will meet Tungsten - and I will be the better ground ..

I sell tons of the Wizard 8.5 mm plug wires to satisfied customers . $40.00 a set plus the ride . I carry both types of ends for 280 type and standard ..
