But again very important to make sure your pan and cover is clean! I would suggest to check every time out when running open carbs!

If your going to keep the stacks on with spacer..
Come on your handy, make a mold off what you really need/want just use the bottom pan from whichever style is close to what you want so you just need to make the cowl..or just mod a cowl close to what you need...you don't have an old one you can use to start the mold off of?and mod it from there? And if you did that you should be able to find an old cowl that needs work cheap and start with that.. It's winter so winter project... on top of the checkmate..haha
Your going to be doing glass work on the checkmate..
LETS GO BRANDON.... LETS GO BRANDON

Yes, cut from metal air boxes.
The little venturi tubes in the center are important.

Ya I could spend sum time making stuff ,but I need get the checkmate project done and motor for it will b on wild side instead mild side. Think I'm just gonna get a 260ish type cowl and b done. that way I can spend sum time getting this thing to fly. eventually

if ya lookin' for "ANY" performance gain ya lookin' in tha wrong place.. ain't gonna happen... I've done everything anyone can think of with carb motors.. 2.0's, 2,4's, 2.5's.. run 'em with/without everything anyone can think of.. stacks, stock airbox, modified airbox, no airbox.. cowl on, cowl off etc.. lotta work for absolutely no gain.. tha only thing I found that made any "noticeable" performance difference was completely different carb.. air delivery did nothin'.... jmo but i'm sure some are gonna disagree...….

Tommy, WHO would argue with your knowledge?... Heck, not even coffee stains interfere, you are still a sharp one!!!
"0" gain on stacks! I made them many years back because they looked cool.
I always thought if it looks good it will be faster.......
Just like when you wash and wax your car/truck it automatically runs better......
