Check out the pioneer sportfish 22. Phone is made in South Carolina. I had one a couple of years ago what a great boat no noise just real tight. Had a 300 horse Yamaha on it 4 stroke.

22 Concept. Look for a late 2000 or newer as they are foam cored. Still in business and very responsive with advice, good people. Only c.c. that I know of in that size range with a real back seat.

anything thats 100 percent self bailing, in a center console boat. not close, not "most of the time", not just with this power or that power, not "only when the tanks low", etc... none of those excuses. but when its loaded as it should be, with all your buddies, full of fuel & gear & water & coolers, baitwell full, etc., with the floor level "still" at least a few inches above the water outside the hull at the back of the boat. critically important for numerous reasons. these days, this is not all that easy to find, as every builder wants they're floor as low as possible, especially in smaller boats. in bigger boats its a bit easier to find, but even some of the big boat builders priority's are compromised in this area.

    New or used?

The Key West 203FS or 219FS are a lot of boat for the money. Some of the best boats in the mid tier (not a Contender or Yellowfin) market. Full floatation foam (unsinkable) with a solid ride, strong hulls and they hold their value well.

If he’s a hard core fisherman and it’s not all ocean the Blackjack 224 is about the fastest in its class, built very well and they fish hard. It’s sort of a Bay / CC hybrid and drop dead gorgeous.

Yeah the Idea was new / used not too old, the prices for the top of line boats is unbelievable, I never realized small boats could cost SO much, WOW nice margins.

    No easy answer.

I’ve got a 2006 Key West 186 Sportsman with a 150 Yamaha sitting on a new trailer with a new custom T-Top I’d let go for $20k if he’s interested. Probably too small for what he’s looking for.

You will always get your money back out of a Boston Whaler unless you buy a brand new one. The Chaos are are really nice and the Scout is good looking as well.
