    Columbus Day

Any other Old Phart like Jackie Wilson & I, & Willabee, know the significance of today's date? And where we would be approximately on October 12-14?

Nja..More like Berlin 6 Hours..Paris 6 hours was always the week before Berlin.
I was there for the 1972 race.
    A windy, rainy weekend.

I believe the designation of the date for the Paris race was “CLOSEST SUNDAY TO OCTOBER 9th”
usually coincided with the Arc De Triumph horse race—- and the Paris Motor show. It could be beautiful at that time of the year—— but it could also be dire, rain, fog and sleet——- simply Sod’s law!
Task of organising the race was humongous——- busiest river in France controlled by the French Maritime Authorities—— needed some delicate negotiations by MSR, BLADINAIRE and his team!
