Battery cable size

I’m preparing to rig a 300R which doesn’t come with battery cables. I’ll have a 10’ run and from what I’ve been able to find Mercury specs a 4AGW cable. That’s what came with the 300XS @ 12’ and it seemed to be fine.

My gut says bump up to 2AGW but I’m real tight for space in the rigging tube, I run 3 cables, shift, hand and foot throttle so I can switch between the 2 and Shields fuel line which is a bit larger than the gray outboard hose.

It’s interesting that Merc specs an 800 MCA battery vs. the 1000 MCA battery for the 300XS but does have the clean power harness. That tells me I should be fine with 4AGW but with battery cables bigger is always better.
