This is just part of the class rules for Mercs, as you know.
Thats actually an old weight from last yr that was overlooked & should have been changed in the rule book . 1565 is the correct weight for stock eyebrow drag with 37cc & svs . Regards

So is the same drag motor with a air horn 15 less 1550?

I'm surprised, a 280 with 37cc heads runs same as a 300 everything else same.?

Yes , stock drag with horn is 1550. The Super comp 280/260/300 are all very close at 1550. The 280 w drag elec & 37cc has won every odba race in LR this season. 260 won on 1 day in Demopolis.

I can't believe the Super gas 225 promax is @1550. There is no way it can hang with a stock 260 and 26cc heads right? Typo?

Has anyone tried a 3.2XS motor , 1650 looks real high since they don't twist up 9,800 rpm or more hurting it's chances, much newer motor, seams like bad odds at 1650lb.

No Typo. From what I was told by the racers, the 200 blocks Modded (SVS, Heads, etc.), were very good runners in that class also. Now as tcrabtree says, the 280's are winning almost all.

    only
Jim, I also talked with Mike Clemmons about the engines similar to the 300xs, and how they may fit into the future...He said they tried it a few years ago, and only 2 boats showed up all year for that class. I would think as the hi-perf and 2.5 stuff gets more rare, some may try to do it...need to keep the ODBA/DSRA alive and well...it is so much fun to race and spectate.

About ten years ago it was brought up at the yearly meeting to start a Green class, Glen Reynolds made every race in a tunnel and the Guy who requested the class.

Glenn is a Old Pro and schooled everyone making some who showed embarrassed they did

This was the year after Glenn hooked his Allison at the finish line in Mod Production in front of a 1/4 Master that barrel rolled attempting to avoid hitting him, That was long

    time racer Randy's last race.

I'm just talking about adjusting the weight to be competitive in Lake Racer, I would think Glenn would be the person who has the best perspective on this since he probability

has the most set up time with these motors, He's schooled me first in LR and then Mod Production, He knows set up

By the way what is the highest you can turn a 3.2 XS racing , I'm still waiting on Tommy to put a 15 in together for my lake boat.

    I've never used one.

Add heads / laser svs & those lil motors will come alive. Super gas 200 @ 1500 won LR at Jasper in 2017/2018. Super gas 200 & promax are both very good combos.

Is there good participation from the younger crowd? I hope the sport continues on, but I would assume the cost would be prohibitive.

Interesting! I knew they spin the crap out of the prostocks. Didn't know they could breathe with a 260 even with the SVS. What type of compression cc will a 200 or 225 promax run in a super gas setup? I assume they still run Vertex or WSM cast pistons

Most guys run around 21-19cc & some more than that. most are still using vertex turning them around 10k ish
