    DSRA/ODBA Lake Racer

Anyone one know what the top competitors in Lake Racer class are using for motor option these days?

This class has way more motor options and the weight changes with your choice, just wondering what the top competitors are using today?

I have a Mod Production motor that is sweet thinking about going that route.

    Thanks

Thanks Taylor, so the lighter weights have been the winning combo's, I never ran the short track, good to know.

Don't run Modified Pro rules...You'll be left at the start line...Trust me, 800' is not for that weight, we just got schooled.

Jim, we changed to a 20p prop, and tried moving weight around, but those guys have the combo down, and they are very strong.
I was told many times before we went down there that the combo we were going to run would not compete...they were right.

Regardless, we had a great time, and saw a lot of faces from the past, and met new racers...everyone was extremely friendly.

So the 26cc 260 is the same weight 1550

What kind of rpms you turning ?

    I have a stock 280 or a 260

I wonder how much better the 280 breaths at top end?

Never tried to run 37cc heads, do they turn higher rpms than a higher compression motor.?

I’d run the 280 if you have one. 260 might have a few more rpm on top but it’s not enough to worry about. A well setup stock 280 or 260 and you’ll be in the mix. As a rules committee we may need to revisit the Mod Prod weights this off season

Thank You Erik...I talked a little with Mike Clemmons, and he thought the rules may need a little cleaning up also.

This is part of the problem. I would have thought you would have to run 1615 lbs, per the rule book. Not trying to say you did anything wrong, but so many combos it gets confusing.
This is just part of the class rules for Mercs, as you know.
