Really impressive run for Todd D.

The Ft. Myers race proved to be a confirmation for Todd's new boat that it is a contender. It was an excellent race "smooth water", perfect weather, great spectating from the beach and seemed to be a flawless job by the organizers and host hotel.

Billy Allen ran off on the pack and "pushed it till' it broke" giving WIA insurance out of MO. the lead which they held onto for the remainder of the race. This put Myrick Coil "performance boat center" then Todd D. "wicked powerboats" in 2nd and 3rd place which they held positions for the remainder of the race. Todd just proved that he, Mike, and the boat are capable of beating and running with other Doug Wrights, Victorys, and Skaters. This is only their third time racing the boat and it will only continue to improve from here. They have limitations that others do not being that the boat is only 28' in a class where the other thirteen potential entries are 32'. Next months week in Key West will be another proving grounds for Todd and Mike--again big time congrats.

    Joe

Great race, Todd! That thing really carries corner speed.

Glad to see you get some validation for your dreams and efforts. More to come...

The history behind this rig is a great one as well! This Lanier Custom Boats hull is the true continuation of the catamaran legacy started by James Beard and Clive Curtis of Cougar Powerboats, and solidified by the likes of Steve Curtis, Errol Lanier, and countless other offshore racing legends. They were the firsts to bring that technology here from the UK, and it's so great to see that the design that won so many races back in the 70s and 80s can still compete with the likes of the Victory's, Doug Wrights, Skaters, etc.
This rig will bring home the checkered in no time!!

Big ups to Todd Defillips, Mike Bethan, and Lee Austin for all their hard work making this happen!!
