I would think If you blueprinted the rear with an 300R you should get to 80, with out T top.

You need a lot of setback if you want to go fast. Once you get to a certain speed, so much of the boat is out of the water that the wedge really doesn't matter. A 300 opti will get you there

its quite a bit different than just sanding a hook out, on the paramount. you cant change what daryl intentionaly designed onto(added) an existing bottom design, in an attempt to alter the boats existing performance, into a full time bow down performance boat, which he accomplished. it was not what he originally had in mind, but that's the way it ended up getting molded. it turned out to be a very nice, dry, little, 21 footer, that was affordable & looked kinda racy for a cc. the rather large, partial pad bottom wedge, is nothing that can be "removed", or improved upon, without major surgery, which just isn't practical to do. the much better option, if blistering speed is the objective, is to locate & buy one of the original boats that the paramount was copied from. the action marine 21 center console. looks identical other than the keel area.

I've had mine at 70mph so far with no hull mods, but motor had issues and havent messed with setup or props. Only had a 23 pitch on it. Hopefully when the motors fixed and I play with setback it should be into the 80s. I'm running a 350 verado

Im amazed at how well that hull holds the weight of that 350 Verado. What is the beam on the Paramounts?

They are a small 21. As they were originally tooled using a shorter boat, a 19', which was/is commonly done. The beam is 86'' at the widest point. They are not a self-bailing boat.
