Im pretty sure i have a few sets of wmv-18's rather than playing with jets on your 150 carbs.

i would suggest that also because main jets are considerable bigger and air jets a lot smaller . i re jetted some 16s once for a 200 and the motor leaned out normal mains in the 16's were 74 i went to 78 it was not enough i guess but then im not a carb guy as a matter of fact any one who knows me know i hate carbs im total efi

I've only used 2.4 WH carbs on the 2.5's I've modified. Much easier to play with than the WMH's. Going to stock 2.5 200, I'd probably go with stock 2.5 200 carbs though!
Like TX said, you can just cut your tuner to the 200 length, if you go with the Bob's tuner you have to throw away the liner in the can which you may or may not want to do...

Thanks guys,, the mechanic I was going to get to bolt it on acts like he doesn’t want to try it, doesn’t think it will work. So now I’m debating about trying to do it myself. I like a challenge, it’s not working anyways right lol.

Putting a 200hp powerhead on instead of the original 150hp powerhead, and he’s wanting around $1k to swap and check carbs, new water pump ( which I installed a new one in spring and have had it in the water maybe 6 times since I’ve installed it, not even 6 hrs on it,, we have small lakes here ).

Geesh. Sounds high to me. Maybe you should shop around for a more understanding mechanic.

Yea that’s the problem.. there’s only 2 local. The rest are about hour or more away. By the time I bought the powerhead and paid him to hook it up, I can buy a descent used motor. He also seemed to think the powerhead im looking at doesn’t come with reed housing. I’ll try to post the link and see what y’all think

So he wants $3000 for a rotating assembly. I sold a Mariner with 6 new pistons complete from cowling to lower unit for $3500 a couple months ago. There are some good deals out there right now with winter just around the corner.

I found what I REALLY want. My heart is set on it,, but unfortunately my heart is bigger than my credit limit.. it’s a 2003 Mercury 225 efi with 230hrs. He won’t come down on the price to my budget tho. I can’t blame him

3.0 are a little heavier then the 2.5 motors . i built a Eric Simon 3.0 for my Bullet years ago and i put all the best stuff in it!!! it started life as a 250 i had James Perry remove the sleeves and add 6 new 300x sleeves in it had ecm refreshed to 300x with a rev limit raised up to 7800, light flywheel, vertex pistons, cut heads , rods/ piston matched to almost identical weight, cut liner, added the bs poppet deal , C Carson reeds, lapped and modified cages after all was said and done it lacked 3 mph being as fast as the the 280 i took off to put this thing on not to mention i hated the back wash from the extra weight set back there 15" from the transom it was not a good set up it did not have the hole shot the 280
