Let me know how that 30 lightning does for you I would like to know the difference between that & the Pro ET 30 I have (always heard 3 blades are a couple MPH faster than 4 blades) that should be a good comparison depending on how close our set ups are.

I took the boat out yesterday. Had it to 90mph but there was a lot of wind so not ideal at all to test.
But think this is one of the faster props I tried. Also the boat just ran good. Enough bow lift. Stable one past the porpoise.
Bit bity I was not able to push it to the limits. I could feel the wind pushing sideways on the boat.

Vegas86, do you know the RPM you ran at 96mph? Improved the top speed after that?
Did you try any other props?

I have not been out anymore it has turned cold & windy here. I have also been gone for last 10 days. My best prop so far is the Pro ET 30 I believe I was just off the limiter around 6700 rpm but it felt like it was still pulling. I was also not in the best place to hold it WOT either. I plan on having my ECU turned up to 7500 I talked to Dennis Hoffman cost $425 he will also check the tune & reprogram if needed for what I want. We had a pretty good talk maybe 30 min he seems like a great guy & I believe from what we discussed he knows his stuff to be continued !!

"Again a totally different hull but mine paddle wheeled when the motor was lifted out too high for that prop. It didnt have the right bite I guess. Chopper cured it for me the one I have makes the boat feel like its riding on the prop and the hull is only along for the ride. Its super grippy but its a chore to get it out of the hole without putting the nose into the sky for 10 seconds. Crazy really I thought it was going to sink the first time I ran this thing. Dang props, always something you want to change up and then you give up something else being taken for granted"
My P22 is a chore to get on plane also. Nose in the air, prop slipping for 10 seconds or more with passengers.
I'm running a Pro Max w/o vent holes.
Any way to cure this issue?Last edited by Steve G; 11-25-2019 at 01:36 PM.

Is your motor revving up that long? Not good for lower unit or motor. Sounds like the prop is not venting , opening up those holes should push the bubbles away from the blades & help , it is something you have to play with take a couple out see if it helps take them all out change sizes etc. make sure your motor is trimming all the way in too, if you have one of those rods in the holes to limit full trim in take it out. I had a boat years ago with close to the same issue I never found a prop that would not do that , I had to modify my hole shot technic by slamming the throttle then when the bow came up let off for a second let it drop some then hit it again once I figured out the correct timing no problem.Performance boats hard to find a balance sometimes right ? #ucking props

The prop grabs but when the bow rises it goes into full slip. Trim all down jack all down. The Pro Max I have has no vent holes. But the holes will most likely make it slip worse.
I may try jacking the outboard up to reduce the leverage it has on the bow.
Once it gets over the hump it goes.1998 22' Progression 300XS

I have two suggestions for slip getting onto a plane. Add a foil to the lower unit. Buy a ring to seal the gap between the hub and the bullet. The ring has worked for me with Trophy small hub props.
