Now I have a more technical or confusing question

    I currently have a 1995 xri efi 150hp

I am building a 175 using that motor a new 1997 175 block, 1997 175 ecu, cc reeds, short exhaust, all other parts off of the 1995 150.
-Will the injectors from the 150 work or should I be looking for injectors for the 1997?

That Injector is the same for 150 2.5L EFI through 225 2.5L EFI Pro Max. Any 2.5L that has Throttle Body Fuel Injection I.E. Laser Injection.

"the picture" there is zero difference in"as stated above" any laser injector for any 2.5 motor ive cleaned 100's and 100's of them the only bad injectors ive ever had is when some body'' checked"them with a 12 volt battery it zapped the coil instantly they are 9 volt only

I’m probably gonna step on some toes here but,
    5-7 days a week 8-12 hours a day I manage/repair
a production line making fuel injectors. Every one
we make has an adjustment sleeve under the filter.
Even the ones for NASCAR. It adjusts the tension on
a spring that closes/keeps needle against the valve seat
when coil is not energized. They can be moved to adjust
    tension on spring.

Interesting. Do you make any fuel injectors used in outboard motors? If so can you please post? Do you make any of these? Bosch, Delphi, Keihin and/or Mitsubisi?

Wouldn't hurt my feeling's one bit to learn something new.
I can't really see a cup car running a 20+ year old 500 cc/min peak / hold injector, but that's the subject at hand here. Let's take a closer look shall we, and of course, if you have a puller and reseat tools , new springs, pintles .. etc. for these crimp body Keihin injectors .. You'll be more than happy to show them too us ... right ???

Not the exact match .. basic design is the same. The internal stem appears to be one piece, locked in place at the crimp.

Let's look at the actual one ... pop the basket out

My eyes aren't what they once were ...

    Lets Zooooooom in ....

Ball's in your court Sensei ...

Now a set of Mike Moran's Billet bolt together's ... different deal ...

Bosch injectors, on my lunch break now even though shift should be over at 10:10.
I cannot go into detail of how Bosch injectors are manufactured, however they are adjustable.
We used to make the Mercury injectors here but they are now manufactured overseas.
Volume can be adjusted up to 20% on some of these units just by changing pressure
applied to spring through adjusting sleeve that is pressed into a support tube.

I get it, Bonneau is just up 52 from Charleston ..

We were talking about a Keihin injector. But I'm sure it's a knock off a Bosch design from somewhere along the line. Now , no one is asking you to further give the farm away. I'm sure that during the assembly process you have certain parameters to work within to bring a part within spec.
In order to replace sacked out springs, pintles with divots worn into the seat area's, or even if someone one the assy line were to seat the sleeve too deep ... there would need to be a sleeve puller/extractor to move it back towards the tip, without ruining the part. As long as they have been in production .. if this were the case, why are they not rebuilt, like the larger diesel units are ..? Tools, parts available .. etc ???
Don't worry, even though there are a couple corupto~crat supporters here, I don't think that they are whistleblowers ...

Chaz = thinkin, I gotz a white tip with a burned off lead. If the boss don't catch me ... i mean, tomorrow .. I'm gonna make her chuck it in the lathe and zip it apart at the crimp. Calling it : controlled diameter reduction competency test ..

Common Rail Fuel Injectors can be dissembled and adjusted. But were not talking about Common Rail Fuel injectors here. Were talking about Electric Pulse fuel Injectors. Two completely different Animals.

Mercury never had its own Injector line manufactured. They Used Injectors from either the Mercedes, BMW or Volvo (Bosch) or Honda (Keihin). All they did was Buy from Bosch or Keihin and place a mercury Pt # sticker over the manufacturers and jack the price up by 100%. Ive got one of the mercury boxes back at the shop somewhere that I saved after I pealed the mercury sticker off and revealed the Original Bosch Pt#.

This is a original out of the box Bosch Fuel injector for the side block injected mercury Race motors. i.e Bridge Port, 260, 280, S3000. Same Injector that is originally used in the Mercedes 280SEL 300SEL 450SE 450SEL 450SL Made in Spain for Robert Bosch. And I can guarantee you these CANNOT BE taken apart or Adjusted!!! Now Im not saying that Bosch doesnt manufacturer Injectors that can be adjusted as you describe. Just not any of the injectors thats used in their outboard motors.
