Yeah, it is too bad that didn’t work out. Many thanks to Blake for generously offering to test them. I’m hoping that there will be a viable alternative injector soon. Hint, hint…

    Hahaha! You mean CAD$50, right?!
JK! I suspected as much. That's completely understandable. As long as I get quality, I'm willing to pay for it. I typically buy ID Injectors for all of my vehicle projects, so I'm used to to paying for quality injectors. But even some of their injectors, like the 1050x and 1300x are still cheaper than the Merc/Bosch hose feeds.
I suppose in the end, the price of a product comes down to supply and demand, though...

    Blake,

Details on your findings with the Standard FJ118 injectors you tested?

Never got a response back from the manufacturer regarding questions in a two stroke application meeting flow requirements.

With a new fuel rail you could just run EV14 injectors. Readily available and inexpensive. Pulse widths at various rpms are easy to get for anyone running an AIM dash with an interface to an 849849 ecu. I’d have them but when I quit racing I sold my laptop with the Mercury program on it and it also had all my AIM data from years of racing

It needed tweaking but it was a really cool setup. Port injectors needed to be bigger for what we were doing. The injection window is really small where there were so it limited how much nitro we could use as the rpm went higher. I’m sure you’re aware that the port injectors had 100% nitro in them. Crankcase injectors had methanol so we used the KV12 ecu to vary the nitro percentages at various loads and rpm. We were really conservative with compression and timing. Really needed a throwaway cut 260 or something to get aggressive with. Both of my power heads were really nice so I didn’t want to split one in half. Lol

    $50 Cad = $39.00 US.

The injectors are on their way back to Rock Auto. You can't make a quality injector and sell it for $50 CAD (thats like a buck fifty US).

I’m running an AiM MXL2 with PPE’s 849849 ECU interface plugged into the ACU. I’ve looked, but I haven’t seen any pulse width data on my datalogs. I’ll look again later and post what I find.

That’s an awesome setup. What kind of power did you make with that?

Motors I build for others get 8 to 10 done. We go to the ramp with a test wheel and place the "jets" where needed ..
@Chaz : I somehow managed to get me one of those CT-200s, shipped all the way from Chineyland, right before Christmas, via DHL, to boot! That must be some kinda “Christmas miracle”!
Anyhoo… I’m wondering how you adapted the hose feed Merc/Bosch injectors to the rail on that machine? The standard adaptors are included, but I don’t think they work with the hose-feeds?
Seeing some of the stuff you do, I’m figuring that you whipped up a set of adaptors??
And, oh, btw: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Sorry for the late reply, I've been sitting in this video for a while. Rock Auto refunded me for the injectors, less shipping/fees. As you can see the spray patterns are awful. the flow tests I did later weren't HORRIBLE but theres no way I would ever recommend using Intermotor SMP injectors as an OEM replacement in any application.

Bud, I guess my math was a little off, or maybe my joke got lost in translation

Anyhow, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a great New Year!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well, and a very big thanks to you for stepping up and testing these supposedly “better” injectors and sharing the results. This sort of information is what makes this site invaluable for folks like me.
