merc 2.5 injectors
I am getting a rebuilt powerhead and wanted to start with a new set or a flow tested set of injectors? I have read some online reference injectors from napa and people talk about rebuilding them? I have a set on a running motor but am not against just buying another set so I have spares... thoughts?

... Have someone flow them...

Take what you have, scribe them 1 thru 6 . A thru F , it's just a reference . Then send them to someplace reputable like Fuller Marine in N.J. to have them cleaned / flow tested. Their testing equipment is finite enough to establish the cc/min each injector flows. there won't be a big difference, maybe 1 ~ 1.5% from best to worst. I always put the least flowing in the top holes and the heavy's in the bottom two. But them being a long-standing Mercury dealer, I'm sure you could ask them if your particular year/model/series of powerhead is known to have a hole that run's rich or lean , and have them offer a suggestion on which injector should go where ...

Charlie (Chaz) is spot on. But let me say this with all certainty. These Injectors CANNOT BE REBUILT!!! And anyone who claims they can is selling Snake Oil!! They either Clean up and balance out or they dont. Also In that you mention it will be a 175 You must be referring to a laser Injected Motor. Those motors have the Keihn Pink Tip Injectors. The Laser Injected Motors have a VST Fuel delivery system and the filter is in the VST tank. Its recommended to replace that filter as they are notoriously Problematic But they are NLA!!! But can be cleaned. Plus the Top cap Oring can sometimes come out and when that happens they are a ROYAL PITA to get back in because of compression stretch. And those Puppy's are not cheep!!!
Ive always recommended doing away with the VST go with a external Fuel Pump and a Adjustable regulator set a 39 psi.2 809086 ----O-RING ACT $47.17

Get them flowed by a reputable shop, Fuller or Brendan Powers are 2 good shops!
Either the coil works or not is what I have found! MOST for me have worked, rarely do the go bad.
They do get dirty/clogged but can be cleaned. Each shop has their own method but generally is similar or the same.
I never heard of one being adjusted!
Some guys run with and some without screens!
I personally run with screens because I'm not racing or screening the fuel I put in with my wife's stockings.......
A simple thing I do to get the VST "O" to sit in place new or old, use a little grease around the track.
My 2 cents.....

Me either, but let's just say sometimes invoicing and reality doesn't always go hand in hand ..
Remind me ta tell ya a story about Marie Antoinette, a Pratt engineer, a boat builder, a couple boat racers and a place called ....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did it like this ....
Because doing it like this ... would have taken another two minutes ...
No, wait, how did that happen ...
Sposta look like this ...
BTW, another honest guy that has an Injector machine is this fella ...
