    air pollution in California

    I found this article today

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/histo...car-pollution/

When I was in Shanghai a few years ago, the air looked like the pictures of LA in the article. I wonder if the Chinese are making progress.

More or less a hit piece on Trump. But that is to be expected considering the source.

I was never in California before this century, but the pictures looked like the air in China. Better list me as a bit of a hypocritical tree hugger. i do like my outboards. At least both are DI.

If we can reduce the cost of an American made car there are more jobs and more money/opportunities for workers. The Cali. smog regs are stifling car sales there. Newer cars on the road better than old cars on the road makes it a wash on pollution. People are driving older cars due to cost of new ones. Fairly simple.

The only moderate day when I was in Shanghai 5 years ago was a rain day. The rain seemed to scrub the air. Maybe it will be safe to go back - if they stop arbitrarily arresting Canadians.

    Are they?

You see an amazing number of good new cars on the roads of California - not at all like what you used to find in places with high car taxes like Norway and Denmark.

There is a reason for that. All the older cars failed inspection and have either been destroyed or sent elsewhere. And where do you think a lot of the older vehicles go? To live in Mexico.
