Very cool project Dave, don’t worry about the 4 year timeline .....most of us have day jobs too.... better to do it once the right way....the two house moves sure must have slowed things down.

Beautiful rig. Looks a lot like mine, except you have an engine on yours. I’m still waiting to get my powerhead back from Diamond that I sent up there nearly two years ago, lol. At the rate I’m going, it will most likely take me another couple of years before I get mine done too.
    Love the badass OMC.

Started doing some tuning and it seemed like water was getting in ctr cyls , plugs looked grey others had dark oil on flat surface of plug face so I had domes re cut for larger dia o rings. I just got them ready to go back on this week so will see what happens, thanks for the interest. Dave

Not sure how I missed this thread. Deserves an article next to the 450r on sf homepage. Titanium hand cut flexplate? All titanium hardware and 12 injector/12 coils 7075 clamp. Most of it still has my drool on it well under that pretty anodize now!

I agree I sure would like to see and hear more about the rigging and setup on this build . I was reading the Eddie Mac thread - very interesting and had thought about this thread as I was going through it. Very interesting . As far as four years goes - time/money/ family-friendly life . Just great to see what guys build - allowing others to understand nice equiptment installed with tech that works .

Have lots of pics just not sure if many people were that interested in little deails. When I started this thing I said to myself... self lets make everything custom so it looks like it goes on this boat and not something bolted together along with a little aircraft influence/ clamps plugs etc. Man all I can say is it takes serious time coming up with what you want, finding the metal, cutting building trying to make stuff look factory just takes serious time..

Beautiful project. That time you spent was worth every second.

On the mill making the bracket angle match the transom so it's not aiming back and down like most, Trim cylinder in the middle, yes could have bought somethin similar but the ADD kicked in.. Borrowed a friends rotary table to cut the round ends on the trim cylinder mounts, first time I ever used one and was hooked after that radiusing everything.. lol..

    Bad asss Dave!

If you sold that for $10K you’d make about $1.50 per hr

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Drives me crazy coming from an aircraft maint background to see pulleys without guards to keep the cables on if they slack. Sooo ADD made me make the stuff, front pulleys are abit unsightlty with all the bolts but they aren't going anywhere and the angle is fixed to match the side of the boat. You guys asked for pics … Funny Gary wife said, good thing your not doing this for a living..

Wow. Very Nice. Is that epoxy holding the SS guide pin in the pulley in pic#3?

The plates are drilled about 3/4 thru so the pins are captive between the 2 sides, the sealer is just to keep salt from getting in and causing dissimilar metal corrosion from the stainless.
