    Solution for propeller storage

I have been in the performance outboard stuff for a while now and have collected a couple of wheels over the years. My issue was trying to keep them stacked and now being able to get to them quickly (some were buried 25 deep in boxes). So I saw these ball holders from rubber maid that work with their "fastTrack" system and figured I could do something to organize my junk a bit. They work great and are visible to find what you want. I found them at Lowes.

I was laying them out to categorize them. I have 6 on boats, 4 loaned out, and 8 down at FJ propeller being tuned on for the new (big case stuff). I will be buying a few of these racks. To have everything in boxes no longer made sense. I am getting close to triple digits and my wife ask me this afternoon (none of these will work for the new boat?)....and I could honestly say no-

While it makes thing easier to visually inventory it still seems like a lot of work to pull anything but the top prop off the shelf but I imagine this is more about storage than anything else and it’s a novel solution.

I put up a small prop wall, a piece of plywood with 4 bolts where I can mount props flush against the wall and use wing nuts to hold them. The problem is it takes up a lot of wall space when you have as many as you do. Ideally something like one of the wall slat panels with a hanger that would hold the prop securely would seem like the best solution but no one has come up with a mounting system.

It only takes a minute to pull 3 or four out of the hanging bin. Digging and re stacking boxes was getting to be nuts. The sad part is that none of these in the picture are any good for the R motors other then the one Merc CNC 5 blade. In my pole barn "at my house up North" I ran 1/2 threaded rod thru a few of the 6 x 6 poles, nutted them in place on each side then used a fender washer and wingnut to secure the props--it worked well but I need to wait until I have a building here.

I hear you on the 300R issue. Although I don’t have that many props for the 300XS none of them will work with the 300R. Add to that the fact good props for the 300R cost 3 times as much as a good prop for the 300XS I’m conveniently not telling my wife about the “ancillary” costs . My only comment on the prop issue when she asks is I’ll sell the 2 remaining good props with the 300XS to recoup some money. I’ve already sold the 2 others that weren’t optimal. Don’t get me wrong, she’s onboard with the repower and loves the boat but sometimes you need to hide how the sausage is made.

Well if you want/need to sell props to offset your new ones..you could open a prop shop! Think you have a better range than the local prop guy.

Joe .. my brother, blocks are cheap ! ! !

    http://pitchblock.com/uploads/3/4/8/...klist71219.pdf

And so is a 4 lb Garland rawhide. Now I won't lie, you gotta swing that &^$%% &%$% ... but , a shim here or there and you can pick~up or drop 1/2 sizes. Put a wheel right where you want it, no shipping , no waiting , no wheels you can't get 60% of what you have invested in them for 10 minutes run time ...
