    twin Optis 06 250XS port motor running too rich?

    trying to help a friend,port motor seems too lag.did comp test all at 125.ALL sparkPlugs are charcoal black and noticed air pump has external oil leak coming from shaft,but rotates super smooth and no play either direction by hand with belt off.did not check air/fuel pressures as my automotive style EFI gauges would not adapt..I need part# for Mercury or snap-on dual gauge liquid filled please and can air pump be resealed?thanks

    Never tried to rebuild one, merc shows a diagram with parts though,

    rich is almost impossible on an opti

    they burn black with high octane non ethanol.

    In this heat heat it’s more likely a heat soaked iat sensor,

    mine wouldn’ Even climb on plane yesterday when I idled to Long and ran her up to 138 for a few minutes doing dock work. 101 heat index plus temp sensor showed water 138 iat had to be reading 140+.

    Check your tps, or even swap the tps's and see if prob follows.

    I understand mercury doesn't offer parts for the discontinued unpainted single bearing pumps,but heard I might be able to source aftermarket for bearing and seal like timkin or CR for seal..somebody surely has done this?
