Dave, we cherish are friends as our pets.

My 3rd Golden Retriever passed in the shop...story..

Been a rough week. Bailey passed away...age got her. Last able to get
up Tuesday morning. Then in the shop and couldn't get up that night
.Made her comfy over night and started calling vets Wewdnesday
morning. Couldn't get ANYbody out here for the needle. Finally a
Mobile Vet in Renton said he could be here Friday morning. Didn't
matter as she passed at noon in the shop Wednesday. They came and get
the body for cremation early Friday morning..sucks. 4th one gone in 25
    years.
Damn right head fulla mems the.."My little Dog, a Heartbeat at my feet"..gone. The "body bags" in Nam 50 years ago?

Simply life is simply NOT easy, but ya gotta be strong and say.."the answer is not in bottle". but in yer head............wish the best as been there, and walked out Not PEFRECT, but better..My Doggy..

The guys that never stop working always seem to end up as the some of the most successful and longest living among us. I am truly glad to hear that you are doing well and taking charge of the situation (don't tell me thoughts and prayers don't help-you have been in mine even though we have never met face to face).

Always be nice to everyone, everyone has massive battles they fight daily, no 2 people's story's are the same, but we're are all here in this world together, might as well make it easy as you can for everyone you can, never know when someone might need it,

Sorry for your loss Robby. It will be a really bad day for me when my guy goes "very attached to this one". All we can do is look back and say (we spoiled the hell out them and provided a good life).

Nice, but horrible seeing so many other grown men in this thread (some NAM veterans it looks like too!!) sharing the same horrific struggle with substance that I have myself. I won’t make the thread out of me but I certainly share the struggle and hope each and every one of you find decrease if not elimination of alcohol from your life. Only after 48 days sober from about 26 years of HARD drinking I can already see that this is definitely the way to go and I am already feeling better.

God Speed and thank you for serving... I am also a golden lover and have lost 2 of them. Just starting to think maybe I could try getting another one...

    Thanks for the forum ...

Good for you, as others (Nam Vet myself, 69) who someway adapted, quit, what ever the Alcohol abuse.....its a Demon....and you can beat it if you DO NOT take the "only one".
