Zero effort conhtrol
Swapped in a Mercury Zero Effort binnacle control for the twin Bridgport EFI 2.4's. There is no adjustment on the control for length of throw. Also there is no adjustment that I can see on the engines for length of throw, only cable length on both ends. The engines seem to require about two inches total from reverse to forward, but the control allows for close to three inches, so it never reaches the detent location to lock in. The throttle is a similar situation. What am I missing here? Is there some kind of magic incantation I need to do to get this to work correctly?
Thanks in advance.
