Mid 1970's to Early 1980's OMC Carburetor Sizes For 115 And 140 HP Outboards

Guys, I'm going to replace my bottom carburetor (cylinders 3 & 4) on my 1978 115 Evinrude due to an emulsion tube that is miss-aligned. The main fuel nozzle on one cylinder is not in-line with the airflow and I'm concerned about that leading to a lean condition. I cannot find a replacement and these don't seem to be user replaceable.

Can someone tell me if the 115 and 140 OMC crossflow outboards use the same carburetors with different jets or if in fact, the venturi/throat or other differences exist between the two of the same years? My 1978 has choke plates - pre-enrichener type.

    Thanks in advance !

    Gordon

You may be able to gently heat the carb body and possibly hit the tube with some canned air (upside down). Probably get a helper and hold the carb body in a vice. Gently use some needle nose pliers to turn the tube...

    Worth a try...

Just did a 1995 115 to. 1979 140 swap and the carbs on 140 have bigger venturi over the 115 carbs I cleaned both sets but never wrote jet size down and the owner said the 140 has way more cowbell than 115 they are same bore and stroke .the 140 has tthe hi perf bubble back exhaust. They run will push a 15 foot tri hull to 60 plus I really like those v 4' s and early choke plate carbs
