    Halved merc v-6

I know it's been done but im having trouble searching. Looking for info on halving a black max 2.0 into a 1L i3.

Friend said that merc or merc racing even sold them like that but ive found zero evidence.

Seems like a great idea since the 59" 3 cyl mercs were designed to be pontoon boat motors and have vibe problems at 7xxx rpm. But if it were a great idea, seems like it'd be more popular...

Looking for a better mousetrap. Thundercat power. I have a dozen merc 59's but they don't rev super high and I dont need much torque down low.

    They run a class that is a V-6 w/3 rods/pistons removed.
Run better than they sound but it’s not a 3 cal and is not what ur looking for.

Would be way heavier than a OEM 3.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Force triples are a dime a dozen. Look for the 1994 and later 90hp motors. The 85hp's are triples, but Chrysler lowers, they are earlier than 1990's. The Force 70hp is the same thing as a 90hp, but only a single carb instead of 3 individual carbs.

For the thundercat, is it a rule to only have 3 cylinders?

No to the 3 cyl rule but it seems most good motors are in that configuration.

Trying to keep the displacement at 60ci for class rules and weight at 200 lbs or less for balance. Merc 59" motors have trouble at 7xxx rpm but Mitch Hardee turns his half 2.5L to 9800.
