    Which Kill Switch?

In a rush to get my boat together this past summer, I ordered the wrong kill switch. I have been running without a kill switch this whole time. It is finally time to order the right one. What is everyone using? There are a few options out there so I am curious

Sorry but you live in Miami, there are dozens of marine supply stores within 20 miles no matter where you live in Dade county. Literally no excuse to operate your boat without one.

And theres no way to answer your question without knowing how your boat is rigged. What is it about the one you ordered that makes it wrong?

It was for an inboard boat from th marine. I called them and there was no way to adapt it because the switch was built into the face plate with no way to remove it. And I have an 8 pin harness.

This is the one I originally bought, but from amazon and I didn't see the selection for inboard or outboard and just assumed (dumb mistake) outboard. I still have it, if anyone needs an inboard one, I'll send it to them free of charge.

Is the sierra one better than the TH marine in terms of quality? Or are they all pretty much the same?

I think the quality is probably similar but I also think most here use the TH Marine style. It comes with two wires sticking out the back: one red and one black. I just installed one in my Allison. In my case (OMC engine), the black wire goes to ground and the red wire goes to black/yellow (ignition kill).

Turn the switch over and yours will work now.

Outboard switch's to ground to shut off.

Car motor, goes open to shut off .. Make sense ?

V/Ohm meter is your friend ..
