Liquid Nails Used In Lamination ?
I'm still working on the tear-down of my recent Glastron GT150 picked-up 2 weeks ago. I've found what I believe is "Liquid Nails" construction adhesive. It had this brown, non-hardened, rubbery type stuff everywhere. The previous restore had used it to bed all of the plywood and joints. There was little strength and the plywood could be pulled easily by hand. They had used cheap wood deck screws to attach the cross pieces to the stringers and the plywood to those same stringers - all were rusted and none found to be sealed with 3M 5200 or any other sealer. In fact, there was not one sign of 5200 being used in the entire build.
This adhesive material had no value. It wasn't holding anything together and was in the process of breaking down from what I believe was a restore in 2014/2015. Wrong material. Wrong job.
