    Shifter adjustment

I recently purchased my first boat and have had issues from the start with shifter after lots of adjustments and finally new mecury premium gen 1 cables it operates smoothly. With the control at full throttale at the council i am still about a 1/4 way shy of wot on the.butterflys. i treid to.move the cable in the.control box closer to the fulcrum to get more travel from the control. Both cables were.in.the outer holes in the control box . When running it like this it would rev fastand just grind gears as it was ahead of the shifter. Am i going about this correctly or is there another way to be adjusting this. I believe its a comander 3000 style with a warm up lever. Engine is an 02 merc 50hp triple

Link and sync is just getting wot and timin set correct, butterflies should have a rod with adjustments that connect carbs that work butterflies , not familar with ur mota but shouldn't b to different. no gauges needed except dial indicator if u mess with timin

Compress the cable end when adjusting the barrel nuts.

Its an an easy to forget step or I see it a lot.

That compression is what alows the gang throttle/shift to shift befor picking up throttle.

Also so check for excessive movement in the case. Had one that wasn’t zip tied up the same after a steering cable swap and blew the remote synch from excessive movements.
