Popeye's 1990's Race Cat
"Back In The Day..." when I lived in Louisiana and was fortunate to work for and hang out at Copeland's Toy Box, I was a boat newb. I would see these boats and anything other than my Fountain 35 Lightning was simply "different".
I know it is not an outboard... but was thinking many here also followed these boats.
So who built this boat and what was in it...? It looks like the ultimate BLAST and cannot remember much of any racing history of it in the 1990's.
Thanks!

If I remember correctly, it had eight 2.4 efis that were all linked together (four per drive) and it was a Cougar hull which he had a bunch of through the years.

On the weekends... Al would take his raceboats out on Lake Pontchartrain and dock them at "Timmy-T's" right at Lakeside. I recently saw a pic of this boat and remembered how crazy it was. Any clue as to where it ended up?
I just sent Stan Ware a message and if I can come up with anything on the boat, I will share it.
Can you imagine how it would run with six 3.0L Optis or 300XS motors?Last edited by Tango; 09-09-2019 at 07:20 AM.

If my memory is correct, I have seen current condition photos of this somewhere and it is in pretty bad shape.

The one race where everything held together was Treasure Cay. Ran away from everything else and averaged a crazy fast speed for the time.

Don't think it would have accelerated as well as they did.

I think Bill Sirois had something to do with that boat.

I think Bill Sirois virtually had 'everything' to do with this boat;
