    WTB 20" lower unit for V6 Merc... (Bought 9/2019 - Thanks S&F ! )

WTB 20" lower unit for V6 Merc..
Nothing fancy, but something that works.

I'm fine if it was repaired, as long as it works... max speed on my boat is 46 MPH, so this is far from
    a high-speed, high risk operation.

I'm in Arlington, VA. Willing to drive up to 2 hrs, or can arrange for shipping.

It's going on a 1989 2.0 L carbed engine that is used as a fishing motor.

I don't know enough about lower units to tell you the gear ratio, fat vs not fat, type of shift, hub, etc... but I wouldn't mind if someone
who does know posted to tell me what I need.

The motor's serial number is B381657

    Hi Dave.

That sounds perfect. I looks like it's about a 3 1/2 hr drive from Arlington to Parksly, VA... a little long, but quite doable.

Hopefully you have an old one layin' around and won't hit me too hard on price.

Please reply or PM with price, and post a couple photos if ya can.

Depending on shipping cost (if you're willing to ship) it might be better to ship.

Google maps shows it's 186 miles to ya and 3:20 drive, so round trip, at 15 MPG
I'm burning 24 gallons of mid-grade gas for $60, plus plus $5 in tolls for a total of $65 plus about 7 hours of round-trip drivin'... assuming I don't hit traffic.

Of course, if I pick it up in person, I can always buy you a beer. :-)

    Thanks!

    -Phil

Thanks for the offer. I'm planning to meet up with @bullet123 in person, and purchase a lower from him. He's only about a 2 hr drive from my house, so it shouldn't be too bad.

If for some reason that doesn't occur, I might reach out to you via PM.

    Cheers!

I don't mind that you posted here, but you'll get much more visibility if you start a new thread, and then I can update this thread as "bought" rather than "WTB".

I wanted to give a big thumbs up to @bullet123 .

I had a nice drive to meet him near the MD / WV / PA border, and was thrilled with the lower unit and few other items that @bullet123 sold me.

    Thanks Bullet!
