Make your own decision but this might help and gives you an idea of what a properly set up River Rocket is capable of. I have run with many guys in chop like this and can usually keep up okay. It has a 15" 300X and a Porta bracket with 8 inches of setback.

Get anything other than a 21. They ride great but u need a doctorate in cats to drive it. Takes a perfect setup and light boat to go 100+ with 260hp.

Any of the tunnels would be more fun if it’s Not rough all the time. My 850lb ski racer ran better in some slop than my river racer, action or t3. There is always a trade off depends on what you want to do.

How about a 20 Action Marine? I might know of one that's just right for a 260 to be hung on back

I loved my STV and I had a Mirage Jaguar before that... but for rougher water like Lake Murray, Wateree and Florida Lake running, my 21' Eliminator was SO much better! With four people on board, it would run 95mph and 105 with me alone and a 300 Promax. I have now stripped the boat, converting it to a center-steer and will be cutting 2-3 inches out of the center sponson to remove the squirt-boat hook.

If you go Skater... step all the way to a 24 and go with twins! I Did!

The Eliminator with a 300Promax, single carbon seat, single battery and a 38 gallon tank with hydraulic verado power steering weighs 1480-ish#

If you are on Facebook... here is a short video with the four of us when the boat had a full interior, stereo and twin 30-gal stainless saddle tanks. So easy to handle... a 14 year old girl can drive it in the lake rough over other boat wakes with zero drama!
