I'm thinking an injector got a little clogged. I doubt it is due to the new plugs because it was intermittent. First time doing this on hose hookup. In the past always added the Stabil on our last fishing trip. Ran compression test and all good. Been reading about adding Seafoam to VST for 5 mins, shut down let soak and run again. What are your thoughts? Second question, I have the original metal reeds. Been reading about the carbon reeds and everyone thinks they are a big improvement. Should this be a winter project or if it ain't broke don't fix it. Thanks
Big T, although that treatment may help your motor some its not a complete fix. Your best bet is to have a full injector service and not risk having engine damage.

Remember that the opti's have rubber parts in the fuel rails. I did this shock treatment once and immediately had the diaphrams fail. Skip the risk and mix the recommended ratio of cleaners in the gas only. These diaphrams are 130 bucks each. About the same as injector cleaning.

Depending what you want you can have as much or as little done to the system on the Optis as you want. We do injector cleaning, but if your concern is the entire fuel system we can clean that as well. We take the rails completely apart, inspect the diaphragms & springs. Then we ultrasonically clean the fuel rails WHILE pumping fluid through the rails. This cleans and flushes everything out. The fluid that is recirculated through is filtered at 2 microns before going though.

Like XstreamViking said, its not worth risking putting something that is not an approved cleaner or treating stronger than recommended. There is a lot more going on in these motors than in a typical fuel injection system, and even then its not the correct way of going about it.
