Remember that the opti's have rubber parts in the fuel rails. I did this shock treatment once and immediately had the diaphrams fail. Skip the risk and mix the recommended ratio of cleaners in the gas only. These diaphrams are 130 bucks each. About the same as injector cleaning.

Depending what you want you can have as much or as little done to the system on the Optis as you want. We do injector cleaning, but if your concern is the entire fuel system we can clean that as well. We take the rails completely apart, inspect the diaphragms & springs. Then we ultrasonically clean the fuel rails WHILE pumping fluid through the rails. This cleans and flushes everything out. The fluid that is recirculated through is filtered at 2 microns before going though.
Like XstreamViking said, its not worth risking putting something that is not an approved cleaner or treating stronger than recommended. There is a lot more going on in these motors than in a typical fuel injection system, and even then its not the correct way of going about it.
