Thought I’d give an update on the merc. Life got in the way, so making slow progress. Cleaned the exhaust chest up, I just got the block back from boring, still have to check chamfer on all port windows, and thoroughly clean it. Im going to cut the heads at 30cc and let it fly; from info i’ve gathered here, that SHOULD be a safe number for 93 octane. D-ported the boost port hole in the pistons, I didn’t widen the hole, just squared the corners (.125 Radius) what do yall think?

They’re clearanced at .006..... I told the guy .008 but I guess that information didnt make it to whoever bored it. The box specified .0058 clearance, I guess they took one look at the box, and didn’t ask any questions. If i Break it in nice long and slow, I sure hope it doesnt stick.

Take the block back and remind them you said .008." Heads can go down to 26cc if you have good gas. That's what James Perry cut mine to. Are you keeping the vertical front or going horizontal? If you're staying vertical the 2.0's really like the Boyesen reeds...
