    Best Gearcase for Allison XR 2002 with mild 260

    I am going form a 2.4 200 to a mild built 2.5 260 on my XR 2002 and was told my current gearcase would not hold up . I currently have a 200 case with bobs cone and tab . what do I need that will hold up and run best CLE , Sportmaster ? and what mods and who to send it to ? Thanks

    in my opinion your case will be just fine ! thats what alot of people run on them

    Stock CLE will blow out above 90 in almost any allison. Allison has never recommended them as far as I know. The Steckbaur XR6 cases are probably the fastest (not durable) followed by the coned 200 cases. In my opinion JC made the best 200 cases but he is out of the biz.

    Put it n gear and see if it will spin and click when turn prop
    Prob is a ratcheting case, I'd take blow out ring off for starters , what does it do neway? Haha

    this.. no problems ('cept when I did something stupid) with tha xr6 for me but ALWAYS start in gear and small props.. bone stock sportys are tha worst imo.. don't forget tha coned TM.. it's very good also..
