    floral arraignment

Very nice, but someone's got to change THE design of the logo so the prop outline doesn't look like a flower ------------JMHO

    Noli,

Has he disclosed a final weight? In the mid 90's Jay had them running 100 with a pair of 260s "you should be able to find the old test reports" but they had to be light. I bought mine and ended up putting a 3rd motor on it within a week of taking delivery. The boat worked really well with triple 260s --117 with low fuel and 3 people. You might suggest how critical weight and motor height are for him to pull a good top number.

I will get the weight from Rey. I'm sure the boat will get lighter as he produces more boats. I know he will hit 115 soon as more props arrive for testing

Anyone care to lend their MercuryRacing CNC props for testing purposes? In need of 33" pitch 5-blade CNC

What’s his motor height? The 5.44” case needs to run 1” higher than the 3L SM and he needs at least 15.5” props to make it work for a top end number. He should be able to run 118 - 120 with twin 400’s and cruise comfortably with full fuel and 3 adults in the 100- 105 range. It’s all about setup and weight.

He also needs to get the Mercury G3 program and use the computer to evaluate props, not the hit and miss old fashioned way.

It depends on just how fast it ends up going as to the diameter of the props. I was just talking with some guys that have a very fast outboard cat and with big numbers, comes big lift. At 125 and up they can't run anything over a 14 3/4 or the boat is a total flight pad due to all of the transom lift being added to the tunnel pressure at speed. The give and take is that it looses bite/efficiency on cruise and acceleration.

As for the G3 program, I think a set of hydraulic brackets are needed on any of these boats if you truly want the best out of them. You simply run the bracket up until you: 1. loose water pressure or 2. the tach outruns the gps. Every propeller is different and will require a different optimum running height so pushing a button on the fly and watching your tach, speedo, and presssure is a much easier way to find it Vs. spending all day with wrenches to end up with an optimum setup for only one end of the spectrum.
