Surely right that every powerboat design is a series of compromises. When comparing designs, a wider tunnel will be more stable, but may also generate more aerodynamic lift - so this may or may not be a favorable performance result - all depends on whether new design can still be dynamically stable with more forward located lift?

I believe this is what the builders are wanting....of generating more lift

As motors get more powerful, they also get heavier, add the windshield which has a negative affect on speed, a hull with more lift is preffered.

when the hull gets wider, the cockpit is wider and we naturally add more seats inside the cockpit and again we've added more weight

This should be a potential hand full. I am curious to see how far into the 30s he is willing to push it. This is uncharted territory with this design. I ran my triple 30' to 119 for a best and it was a make up remover with the wind in your face. Blow cycles become much more violent and intense at these speeds "he will be testing his structural capabilities along with speed limitations". Really don't want to see someone with this type of enthusiasm and drive get hurt (just watched Ford Vs. Ferrari and its a reminder that its not worth the price you might pay).
