    fuel recommendeation

    I have a 250 Verado I recently had Simons Motorsports flash my ECU.I understand I have to run 91 octane or better, but does it have to be non ethanol?

    No, so any changes after the flash? What about in top end ?

    For fuel system health and well-being I would use non ethanol. Technically it's fine to use. Mike

    I got about 500 more RPMs and 5 mph with the same prop going to try a different property and checked the results

    The ethanol will not affect the octane rating and your motor is rated to run up to 10%. As stated above , it's not recommended. Ethanol in the marine environment is a recipe for disaster.

    When I had my 150 optimax hung the tech told me to run Startron Fuel additive as well as Merc Quicklean to keep the injectors clean in every 3rd tank or so. I top the tank off every time I go out and add a little of both each time. I asked if that was okay and he said it was great way to keep the motor clean.

    I buy Non Ethanol Gas when I can find it but that get hard in my parts.
