    Help with stringer installation

I am in the process of replacing stringers and I made a critical mistake. I did not support the hull before I began and after I removed one stringer the boat sagged a little bit. It is on the trailer with bunks not rollers. I have the top cap still on but it is a bow rider with little support in the front. I only have one stringer removed. How do I make sure everything is good before I glass in the new stringer now that I have made this mistake??? It seems like the area that bowed in a little was where the stringer was and where the bunk is pushing on it. I used a ratchet strap stretching across the boat to keep that tight and then I picked up on the boat with my engine hoist on the side that has the stringer removed in an attempt to get rid of the sagging. It did seem to help but I want my boat straight before I put a lot of money in fiberglass into it.

    Any help appreciated!

I would strap the bow up to the rafters or something above. On my Vking rebuild i removed all stringers and core and left the cap on, just sitting on the floor it would really distort the hull all over, but I would strap the hull bow and some other areas to the rafters in the garage so that the pad was flat and the hull didn't look distorted and my side to side measurements matched up. the straps remove the weight of the cap pushing down on the hull. good luck, hope you can get it straight. What kind of boat hull? May help with more advice from the more experienced guys here.
